He used yahoo messenger to get friendly with his victims. In Romania, pedophilia has been booming this year. The media have presented at least one case of pedophilia every month intercepted by police. In September an Italian pedophile was sentenced to 2 years in prison for abusing a 12 years old Romanian child and paying him 10 EUR for certain acts.

In the 2008 Yearly Report of DIICOT (Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism) states that child pornography on the internet is not yet a phenomenon in Romania, but facts are indicating a certain growth. Also, according to DIICOT’s statistics, Craiova seems to be hit by this phenomenon the hardest, but also has the highest number of traffickers sent to court.
