31 Aug 2010 |
‘Children and Young People Now’ reports that NGOs in the UK are calling for a shift of responsibility for child trafficking from the Home Office to the Department for Communities and Local Government, to ensure a more child-centred approach. They are arguing that at the end it is the duty of local governments to provide adequate care and protection for these children. In July Communities Minister implied that this shift is already done, while a later government statement denied it.
