Italy Pope denounces violence between Rosarno townsfolk and immigrants

- ‘Times Online’ reports that the Pope denounced the violent clashes between Italians and immigrants in Rosarno in the past few days. Residents were reported beating African migrants with iron bars. 66 people were injured in the street violence, five seriously. The violence erupted amid political discussions about illegal immigrants and about the exploitation of migrants by the Calabrian mafia.
