Presentations shed light on the increasing problem of migration of children from New Member States towards Old Member states, and some of the solutions both at local levels and through inter-governmental cooperation (specifically between Italy and Romania).

The representative of the EU’s Fundamental Rights Agency pointed out the main proposals of FRA towards the EU regarding the better acknowledgement of children’s rights in the migration process and better protection of children from trafficking. Several representatives from New Member States (Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania) enlisted the programs and measures implemented to put in place prevention mechanisms and better protection of the most vulnerable children.
