Albania "I am happy to see MOVE moving"

Project : MOVE 12 May 2010

1107_albania_move_small Tirana, Albania: After some delays in project implementation, trainers, animators, and several Ministry representatives came together on May 11th to discuss the vision of MOVE project until the end of 2011. Participants said they got a lot of motivation out of the meeting, understanding the possibilities and the plans of the project, while Ministry officials got engaged in a positive ways with ideas on how to integrate MGS into the Albanian school system.

While animators in Romania and Moldova are mostly teachers – in Albania they come from different NGOs, they are also social workers, or work in Child Protection Units (CPUs). Also, the first “replications” of the trainings will be done just starting this month, so there is limited evidence of impact on the children to advocate on. That however has not impeded the office of Tdh to advocate for the official recognition of the project with the Ministries of Labour and Social Affairs. When discussing how each participant felt about the day, Zino Kore, director of the Greek NGO ARSIS in Albania said: “I am happy to see MOVE moving”. [JA]
