Kosovo How and where should an interview take place
Project : Kosovo 3 Dec 2009
Pristine, Kosovo: During the first three days of December, a workshop was organized by Terre des hommes in cooperation with ‘CREATE’. This workshop training was organized mainly for the Kosovo Police, Probation Service, and Center for Social Work (in total 32 participants), on different techniques and environments to interview children in conflict with the law by the consultant of CREATE – Marie Wernham.
Throughout the workshop everyone had the chance to contribute to and share of experiences, but participants also had the opportunity to play part in representing each others institutions, thereby understanding each others positions more as a result of increased cooperation and a better understanding among all the institutional representatives on how an interview takes place with children in conflict with the law.
The participants also surprisingly found that the interviewing system and techniques in Kosovo was not that much different from other countries. However they did find it very new and potentially functional the usage of cameras while interviewing children in conflict with the law.
