‘Focus’ cites a Europol report that states that criminal groups involved in trafficking in human beings (THB) are extremely sensitive to emerging or changing demand, swiftly providing human resources to be exploited in a range of environments. Roma organised crime groups are extremely mobile, an attitude of detachment towards Roma communities by public authorities left the most vulnerable members of these communities – children and young women – unprotected from exploitation.
