1085_create_worshop_april_2010_2_smallBudapest, Hungary: partners from Tdh Germany, the TDH International Federation, and other partners from Malta (Kopin) and Poland (Nobody’s Children Foundation) joined the regional team to plan a European project to campaign for child rights in development. Another colleague from Ekvilib from Slovenia joined the meeting through Skype. The delegation of Tdh in Romania and World Vision Romania also provided inputs by email and expressed their will to cooperate to such regional initiative.

Over the two days (15-16 April 2010) the group discussed what the project should achieve and how, aims of the joint actions and national activities that accompany the European advocacy. The regional team promoted the topic of “children on the move” within the issue of policy coherence. There was however a great diversity of issues which finally needed to be put into one coherent concept.

As a first step a concept note will be developed with the input of altogether 6 partners and will be submitted to respective headquarters and, if accepted, later on to EuropeAid at the end of April. The project is a direct outcome of the GREAT project – in which Tdh Germany, the regional office, Kopin and Ekvilib were already partners and expressed their wish and willingness to continue the collaboration but focussing specifically on child rights issues. The name of the new initiative is “CREATe”: Child Rights: Europeans Acting Together. [JA]
