Italy Amnesty condemns raid on gypsy camp

‘The Roman Forum’ reports that the former Heineken factory, in Rome’s Tiburtina district, home to 400 Roma people, including 80 children was raided, the people were evicted and 20 Roma men were arrested, charges made are unknown. The municipality offered short-term shelter to some of the women and children in the city’s homeless shelters. Local NGOs, including Amnesty say the community was not notified or consulted about the eviction.
