Sonila Danaj, author the recent report on the situation of child trafficking in Albania gives her comments on the impact of the report and on the declaration of the Prime Minister.
Yesterday, during the press conference for the presentation of the report, the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr Sali Berisha, who was saying that the reality of child trafficking in Albania goes far beyond the official statistics. What is your point of view about this declaration?
Sonila Danaj: Well I think that the report also shows that! The figures show certain numbers but these numbers are not the real numbers of children who have been trafficked. And why’s that? Chisinau, Moldova - Since May 2007, Lilia Raileanu, is organising the psychosocial activities within FACT project in Moldova. As a participatory drama practitioner, she animated special workshops with two groups of children who were showing some deficit in expression. The first group was composed of children aged between 7 and 8, and the second group with teenagers, most of them in conflict with the law. Angela Ciobanu, 37, is the national coordinator for community based actions of FACT project in Moldova. She is a medical doctor, with a master in public health, working with Terre des hommes since March 2006. Angela Ciobanu is in charge of the implementation of the activities based at community level with the local authorities within the three regions where Tdh intervene to protect children at risk. After five weeks of street work in three main Spanish cities, the investigative team starts to have information about the situation of isolated Romanian minors in Spain. Mari-Paz Ramos-Martin is heading the delegation of Tdh in Valencia and she is coordinating in Spain the works of the two investigators mandated by Tdh in Bucharest. The street work will continue up to the end of September and the findings will be compiled into a report at the end of 2007.
